Program Objectives

The BSIE Program Educational Objectives represent the expected characteristics of industrial engineering graduates within three to five years of receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. The BSIE curriculum has been designed as the foundation for these educational objectives. Tennessee Tech industrial engineering graduates will:

  1. Organizing and leading, as well as participating on, cross-functional teams.
  2. Applying industrial engineering methods and techniques to implement or improve complex integrated systems that include people, materials, information, equipment and financial resources to benefit society within societal and contemporary global issues of professional practice.
  3. Engaging in formal training, continuing education, and/or graduate school.
  4. Engaging in service to community and/or professional organizations.
